BiteTheBytes unveiled World Creator 2023, the most recent iteration of their GPU-powered terrain generation software.

Introducing World Creator 2023, BiteTheBytes has recently launched the latest update of its GPU-based terrain generator. After an early access period that began at the start of the year and multiple preview builds, the software received its stable release last week.

New Features of World Creator 2023:

  • Revamped User Interface: The new interface is designed to handle terrain layers more intelligently, minimizing the number of clicks required for terrain creation.
  • Biome and Biome Layers: Introduces Biomes to define the appearance of specific terrain regions, with Biome Layers acting as masks for generating variations within Biomes.
  • Mask Layers: A more general system of Mask Layers has been implemented, enhancing the flexibility of terrain generation. Path and Shape Filters from World Creator 2 are reintroduced as layers.
  • Unlimited Terrain Size: The update removes the size limit on terrains, allowing users to generate terrains of unlimited size and detail.
  • Bridge Tools Update: The Bridge Tools, used for exporting terrain to various applications and game engines, now support Blender, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Unity, and
    Unreal Engine 5.
  • Simulation Layers: A new system for distributing sediment and related materials over terrain, offering control over distribution patterns through Filter and Material Distributions or direct painting onto terrain.
  • Steepness Distribution: Introduces a new distribution system for controlling steepness in terrains.
  • Rain Maps and Soil Maps: Support for rain maps and soil maps to control erosion, adding realism to terrain simulation.
  • Infinite Width in Path Layers: Path Layers now support infinite width, providing greater flexibility in terrain design.
  • Readymade Presets: Includes a new set of readymade presets for gradients, streamlining the terrain creation process.
